A LEPER’S WAY OF LIFE
In this world today, we all can say we have a leper’s way of life, mentally and physically and can be compared to the ten lepers which Yashuah cured in the Bible. A leper is defined as: one who has a contagious disease that affects the skin, mucous membranes, and nerves. And I would think after having the disease for a time, it would affect the mind. But using this as an example of how sin affects our bodies, I use this disease to show how sin can destroy not only the outward man but most important, the inward: the mind, body and soul. It eats away at our godliness and the ability to be righteous, given by Yashuah. Little by little the want and need to be free of sin dissipate and is replaced by self-centered worldly ambition: negating YAH’s truth for the world’s lies. But YAH can heal all types of infirmities, mind body and soul.
Luke 17:11-19 – The Ten Lepers
11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
We are all born in sin, it is an inheritance bequeathed to us by our parents, Adam and Eve. We, ourselves, as generational offsprings, are lacking the ability and do not have the strength, to move this mountain (sinful nature), therefore we are not able to right this wrong. But Yashuah could and He did when He went to the cross for us. On the outside we put on a show of goodness to get others to believe our lies and that we are doing the service of YHWH; a show to hide our evil minds and intention.
As, the proverbial (the well-known nine, in the Bible, for not giving Yashuah the praise) lepers, the other one ( used to demonstrate the fact that the only way to move through this earth, happy, at peace, using patience, and showing much love), which is the majority us who truly wants to be healed. Most time, we look to others because the world has taught us that that is the way to go (self-servant) and if, not seeking but Him keeping) we have been delivered, we give them or self the credit. But I tell you that one sure way of going through with true healing is to seek YAH’s face or stretch out our hands to touch the hem of His garment or bask in His Holy Presence (in the spirit) believing that we will be made whole. One touch is all it takes (Matthew 9: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole). It may take a while for it to materialize but when it does watch out because with the touch, from glory to glory the process begins: as soon as we come to Yashuah, confessing that He is Lord and Saviour.
It is amazing that when we are in trouble w, then call out to YHWH to hep us go through. But as long as everything is going alone good (sun shining, birds singing, prospering financially, children doing well; all is right with your little world, YAH no longer is the constant force in our life. But let our little apple cart become upset, then our voices can be heard to high heaven, we fall immediately on our knees and cry out to the one we don’t have time for, YAH. The question is, why can’t we have Yashuah as our constant companion all the time, not just when we feel His help is needed (even though we need Him all the time)? When we place Him in the center of our life we won’t have to worry whether or not He is with us or will He come, we will know because His mercy and grace will cause His presence to radiate all around and through us.
For the LORD to heal us of this spiritual leprosy, we must keep Him as the focal point, daily working all other things around, through and for Him. Know that when we do this, they’ll fall in place and you will be successful in all things) (Proverbs 3:6 6 In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success). We are to be, not as the nine lepers, whom Yashuah healed, and then they forgot to praise. But as the only one who gave Him glory and honor and thanked Him for His presence and power and His ability and willingness to forgive: and to get rid of whatever sin (the leprosy that was destroying his/our outlook on life) we are dealing with. YHWH doesn’t have to give us another chance but daily He does; all because of His love He has for us. So, let me say this, coming from among that which we have grown into, will be hard. But know this that YHWH created each and every one of us (whether we want to believe it or not) and He knows just what to do to bring you through and how much pressure to put on you, not to destroy but to improve you. And, as with the lepers, He will heal us; He wants us to recognize Him for doing it though praise and thanksgiving; giving Him all the honor and glory. He will help us get through anything but once you have gotten over that bump and settled back into our selves, don’t forget who willingly gave His life for you. God’s got it no worry no fear.
