QUALITIES AND CHARACTER OF A GOOD AND RIGHTEOUS LEADER

WHEN IT COMES TO GOING INTO LEADERSHIP ALL SHOULD CONSIDER THE QUALITIES AND CHARACTER OF A GOOD AND RIGHTEOUS LEADER

I chose this topic today because to a great degree, we have forgotten what to expect from a leader, (be it preacher, deacon, government officials, etc.), and we need to revisit the standards, qualities and characteristics that YHWH (GOD) set forth. Because all were and are not chosen to lead.

This is a reliable saying: Whoever direct his hopes or ambitions towards achieving the greater good of the whole is one of the best qualities a leader can possess. It takes a special person to be an overseer/leader of people, in any mass situation; those that go beyond themself and do the good and righteous thing for all, not just some: the desire for this type of position, should be shown by their fine personal qualities and high moral principles and ideals. The leader (overseer) should be at a higher level or layer, in their walk with God, (thinking, speaking, doing), than those he/she are leading; They should strive to be above disappointment or disapproval and maintain that level throughout their role in leadership, (They are human so YAH takes that imperfection into consideration). They remain loyal and steadfast to their significant other, spouse, country or whatever leadership role they have assumed; they show moderate or self-restraint at all time; possesses the ability to control oneself, particular one’s emotions and desires or the expression of them in their behavior, especially in difficult situations (urges to do the wrong thing when they think they have been wronged); are regarded by society to be good, proper, or correct; welcome others with open and honest arms; act as an enabler to others by way of instructing, coaching and educating them in a positive way; are not intoxicated on power, position or sprits of an unnatural source; are not and does not incite violence upon others, whether you agree or disagree; but approach all decisions, big and small, with a gentle and caring attitude; are able to settle dissensions without being argumentative or harmful; does not love money, (money is not the issue, it is the love of it that gets one in trouble); they must act in a manner worthy of full respect, not just from their household but also from the ones they are leading. This requires being able to manage their own families, children obeying and respecting, (starts at home: if your household does not respect and obey you, how do you expect those who see it, to respect you and how can you be expected to take care of the sheep (whether at home, church, government, etc.), in which God entrusted you with). Those who are new to the idea of leadership should not be considered for a prominent position, or they will become excessively proud of themselves or even vain and fall under the same misfortune or calamity (viewed as a divine punishment) as the devil; having a good reputation with those who are close (domestic), and not close (foreign), to them, so that they will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap (to pit the world against itself). So, in conclusion, we see that to be a good and righteous leader, you must bring to the table qualities and a character worthy of leadership. They must be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must know what it is to keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. And they must first be tried and tested in the arena of life; and then if they have been deemed worthy to serve, there is nothing against them that would hinder their abilities to serve righteously, let them serve as God’s leaders. GODS GOT IT NO WORRY NO FEAR.

1 Timothy 3:1-10

1 In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 3 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great grand. I love my family, friends and everyone I meet. But most of all I love me some YHWH Who is the lifter of my head and the light of my life's pathway. Without Him I can do nothing but with Him nothing is impossible for me to do.
