I’LL TAKE DESSERT ONLY, PLEASE IS THE ATTITUDE OF MANY CHRISTIAN, IS IT YOURS?
This is the attitude in which most of us have taken toward life and are expecting to maintain throughout our relationship with God, through Jesus. At the beginning, we are all fired up and ready to put our whole body into it, not knowing the fact that we are going to need a complete meal to strengthen our mind, body, heart, and soul for this journey. We do not mind going through the appetizer phase (first becoming a child of the Most High God) and experiencing the various forms of direction and discipline in principle, in regular small portions, just as long as it does not affect our lifestyle. The affect will be such great love, joy, peace, and reward when we accept the entire meal; eventually we will get dessert and when we do, we will be more appreciative of it; knowing that it took the whole meal to bring us in full circle with YHWH, GOD, through Yashuah, Jesus, our Christ. Yet many do not stay opened to being anchored to God’s shore of love, hope, truth, and power long enough, to feel the full effect of YHWH’s goodness through Yashuah. (“I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.” 1 Corinthians 3:2)
To say you give your life to Christ – becoming a child of God – is easy and light. The initial commitment comes with a hint of what is to come. We begin to detangle, with Jesus’ help, our mind from around the places we have come, to free us from the bondage of a delusional life (that you can live by dessert (milk), like a baby, your entire life) and never mature. But when you opt to welcome Jesus into your life and begin to acquire the necessary wisdom, and learn more and more about (God) YHWH, the Father, (God) Yashuah, the Son, and (God) the Holy Spirit and our part, (as we wrap our mind around the places we must go)He has given us, individually, to play for, with, in, and through Him you will, through trial and error, get the big picture. (Hebrews 5:11-14 11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. 12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil).
To continue in the same frame of mind, regarding the teaching of the sound doctrine of Christ, as the pharisees and Sadducees had, you will never get prepared for the true meaning of becoming a child of God and all it entails. You will continue to take an attitude of misunderstanding of His Word, Will, and Way, the different courses throughout the meal, your life. Becoming as white-washed tombs; beautiful, clean, and an appearance of being fully nourished, on the outside, but ugly, dirty, and empty on the inside. This is all due to lack of knowing why the entire meal God allows us to experience, with Him, is necessary for our spiritual growth. It brings about the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, through the fulfillment of not eating the food Yah, through Yashuah, has prepared for you render us lacking in the defense we need for the enemy. (Matthew 23:27-28 27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity).
To get to the most enjoyable, no-worry-be-happy part of my life I will cut out and don’t worry about the main (the meat of it all, the middle, the hard part) course, I want to skip over to desert. I will, myself, evaluate, excavate, and eliminate, the realities I think I don’t need. Then I will determine my own path and rush through my life’s much needed courses, (those which builds my foundation to stand against these and all other forms of troubles, faced), to try and get to the easy, laid back, non-conforming, or caring (about God, yourself, nor others), station in life (no such thing – bubble busted!) as soon as possible, no matter what it takes. This place of “Dessert” is where the troubles, trial, and tribulations have ceased. You are at a place where the song “trouble don’t last that long”, have proved to be a reality. You have reached a junction in your life, when “Ain’t Gone Study War No More”, is your anthem. You are in a position, in life, where you think, all that needs to be, have been said and done. In your mind it is your time for you to spend the rest of your life basking in the abundance of Yashuah’s, Jesus’ glory, not requiring any more than what you have done; accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. This, in a sense, is true but to live an abundant life, the one Jesus came to give you, you must get step away from the dessert table long enough to get down in the trenches (if necessary), along the highways and bye-ways and do your due diligence. Your request (to yourself) to find the peace of, your little cherry pie, cheesecake, lemon cake, peach cobbler, with pineapple sorbet on top, for self has been made and heard (by our Father; you cannot change the course nor the way we must run it, He has in place for all of us) but only you (yourself), have decided to take it easy, retiring from the meat of it all (the God inspired, run, and fueled life He has for you) and withdraw into the “I, ME, MY” Dessert only life, created in your mind, by you, for yourself. (Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon). In this case mammon is self, sponsored by Satan.
The dessert God has for us involves loving, caring, helping, and sharing with Him and others. Because “God’s Dessert” comes with a price (the meat of life on earth in preparation for eternity), but the reward (the dessert of life on earth and throughout eternity) is so much greater. All we are to do is follow God’s Word, Christ’s command, and the Holy Spirit’s lead. By negating to perform your God-given duties, to achieve your God-given purpose, with all creation, put in your life by God, even in good intentions (I don’t see how good, but God knows your thoughts and heart) is not going to help you receive the reward for the last leg of your journey; Dessert! (Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour). Galatian 6:9-10 …9Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith). The main course in life, prepares us for our just dessert (Reward, Eternity). We must experience many courses, main and otherwise, to reach our ultimate dessert given by God, our Creator, Maker, and Rewarder. Or if we fail to hit the mark, by giving in to our flesh (which tell us we can quit now, we have done enough, think only, of self) we will get another just reward. So, eat your steak, greens, mashed potatoes, cornbread, etc., of the Word, stay steady, and be prepared to slay the enemy of this world and receive your “Just Dessert” from God, through Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. (James 1:12 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him). GODS GOT IT NO WORRY NO FEAR.
