WHEN THE STORMS OF LIFE ARE RAGING DON’T GET DISCOURAGED AND GIVE UP OR GIVE IN, BUT STAND FIRM IN YOUR COMMITMENT TO GOD, LIKE THE TREE PLANTED BY HIS RIVER OF LOVE.
When the storms of life begin and continue to rage in your life and it seems like at every turn there is a great body of water containing billows of waves (troubles trials, or tribulations). They loom around every bend in your river (Life), too great for you to maneuver. They are plenty in numbers and seem to target the ones who are trying their best to serve YHWH, God in the true and righteous way. Don’t give up when you are in your storm but fall down, look up, reach up, pray; call, on the only one who truly cares and will help. Don’t get discouraged and lose your mind or forget whose child you are, because this is the moment of truth; where the rubber meets the road, whether you honestly believe and know that our Father is our ride or die. Know this, that when you are continuously being hit with something and you don’t fold, but stand firm in the LORD, it makes you strong enough to weather any storm and help your fellow man to be able to endure also: you’ve got Jesus. (Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.)
This is the moment in which we are prompted, by God, to see our storms for what they are and Who He is in them. They are the allowed works of YHWH, Elohim; His wonders, searching the depth of your and my life, our mind, heart, and soul, waiting for our true commitment, to be revealed. And even though God was directed His message to Jacob His servant, letting Him know that because He was the seed of Abraham, His friend; He is speaking to those who love and serve Him today. He has chosen the ones whom He will and that no matter what vile and ungodly, unlawful, things which would try to come upon us because of another man’s delusion, He, God will hold our right hand (hand of power). Therefore, we do not need to fear; His love and help goes far beyond whatever man can think or try to do to the ones He has chosen. (Isaiah 41:9-13 9 Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. 10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee). (Read the whole chapter).
He told us that tribulations (storms) were going to be. And because of our sure disobedience, in today’s society, He stands back and watches those who go contrary (usher in the storm themselves), to His will, make complete fools of themselves. He does not cause the unrest but due to man’s insistence (that God is not real or He’s to come only when called). He allows the moments (events and occurrences, situations and circumstances, trials, troubles, and tribulations) to come in like a wave or in multiple waves to humble us; hoping we will see His Light (Jesus) while in the middle of our storm, grab hold to His hand so He can see us through. Then, when the storm has done its due, He calms it, it is over, (for now) and to those who truly believe He re-establish the fact that He is in charge and is still in control of His creation. And He, YHWH, God, Almighty, see that the situation, trouble, or circumstance will either be elevated or deflated, according to His will and purpose. Some will continue to defy God, walking in wickedness every day. But God has a special storm for these and when He deem necessary, will bring it forth.
We look around at the many storms going on; the natural disasters, allowed by God and the man-made disasters, produced and promoted by man, today, and wonder what is really going on. And to many it may not seem that God has control to some; that the storms are getting rougher and completely out of hand but be assured that His birth, death, and rising was not in vain. This show of Love, Light, and Life. The ultimate mastery of love over hate, life over death and the light of strength and power over weakness and succumbing to evil, with it gave Him (as the Son) everything He needs to combat sin and evil. John 16:33 is one of my favorite scriptures. It sums up the fact that yes, we will have storms in life but through them all we should be happy. Why? Because Yashuah, Jesus has overcome the whole world. So, if we keep our hand in His and our eyes lifted toward heaven we will not fear when evil is all around us; God’s got us, no worry, no fear. (John 16:33 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world). (James 1:1212 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him).
All of this is done to test the truth we claim to have in the LORD as the sheep of His pasture, the followers of His lead. When we are humble and obedient, He takes us, in our walk with Him, high to beautiful, peaceful, joyous, and prosperous places, ones that are conducive to our life’s all-inclusive journey. And when we continue to walk contrary to His Word (Jesus) He takes away the shield (of protection) every now and then, only for a moment, to see if we will flail around with closed eyes, ears, hearts, and minds and crumble under the weight of the world; eventually turning back to Him with eyes, ears, hearts, and minds wide open; opening our mouths and speak the truth and be resilient enough to call out to Elohim, God. And His strength and power, for us, will come out of our distress. And remember that if we truly believe in YHWH, God, His Word Yashuah, Jesus, and His Holy Spirit, The Way, we will, while the storms are raging learn to accept and do His will. Because we know He has us in His powerful right hand. (Philippians 4:11-13 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me).
As you face another storm, instead of compromising in and to it, know that God’s got you, no matter how bad it looks. Consider yourself encapsulated by His great love, looking forward to the “through”. Be still; be quiet. Even though you are going to go through storms in life, our Father in Jesus’ name will protect and keep you. Just be patient and wait in the presence of His service; keep working toward eternity with Him. Because eventually all the storms will stop raging; the sea will be tranquil and peaceful; the constant movement of fear, anger, war, and all other things contrary to God’s will, will be done away with. Remember that prayer is the link between us and our Father and that when we pray to God to keep us, He will but we must keep Him in our hearts, mind, body, and soul at all times. Next, all we have to do is praise the Lord, give Him all the honor and glory, look to Him for all of our help, and acknowledge Him for His good, faithful, and wonderful works; know that He is the only One Who can calm the storms of our lives, and make the seas behave. (Psalm 107:23-32 23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; 24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep. 25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. 26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end. 28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. 29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. 30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. 31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders). GOD’S GOT IT NO WORRY NO FEAR.
ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES:

3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
