MIND YOUR THOUGHTS, WORDS, COMPANY KEEP, AND HEART

This includes your WHAT YOU PERMIT TO OCCUPY YOUR MIND, WHAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH, PEOPLE YOU ALLOW IN YOUR SPACE, and THAT WHICH YOU OPEN YOUR HEART TO.

(Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things).

The world has become a melting pot for those who harbor cruel and harmful thoughts and intentions. Words that are spoken are done so to incite hate and division; break apart that which was once looked upon as being solid: The foundational guidance of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Our thoughts become the backdrop for the road of progress we make or the road of procrastination we take; the permission we give ourselves to pass, press forward or prevent, the things that help generate our life’s painting. When we are deep off in our thinking, we must be careful how we fuel it and with what brush strokes we use to accomplish it. We must consider what we think about and who stands in the recess of our mind, with us, encouraging or inspiring in either right or wrong which determines the words we speak. We must think about (in these uncertain times) what tools we are going to receive and use (those which we harbor in our heart) to make life a beautiful painting of a righteous reality or a nasty nightmare. This is very important. Remember “What comes out of our mouth brings with it consequences; we should heed what we think and say.” So, will it be prayer, praise, and perseverance to help us forge forward along the righteous way or will it be perverted prevention, placated with empty promises, allowing thoughts of evil, to stop us in our track and we stand still; our painting unfinished. (Proverbs 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction., Proverbs 10:19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise., Ecclesiastes 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few).

Words you say reveal a lot about what is in your heart and mind. The thought that is whirling around in your mind. And you may think that just because it is in your head it is okay; it’s between the Good Lord, us, and the gray matter; no one hears or sees it until it comes to life, and it will, eventually. This is where we go wrong because even in our most secret thoughts we may think just because we entertain thoughts unknown to others (those that are contrary to God, which comes to our mind) that it’s okay to do so. But that very thought if fed constantly and not brought under control, can become a blessing or a curse, depending on what you are thinking. These days it seems that people’s thoughts have become so radical and so far, left (Jesus is on the right), that they cause more problems than create solutions. (Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Philippians 2:3-5 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:)

It is so sad that most people’s identity relies on the company kept: it can be from those who encourage love, peace, patience, perseverance, praise, and prayer which equals spiritual progress or of those who encourage hate, violence, misinformative rhetoric, and anything that tears down instead of buildup which equals spiritual decline. When you begin to really take notice of the majority of people, in today’s society, you see an uncannily dangerous occurrence; they have or are in the process of becoming carbon copies of everyone else; no individualism anymore or very little. The saddest part about this is that they usually choose the evilest, most vile person(s) to mimic; ones who promote devastation, division, and destruction. Yet, as evil as it may be, the masses find it necessary to go along with it; normalizing it. Because the goal is to control, to destroy, deny, to fit in, not rock the boat, belong. They welcome the most profound evils in their hearts and then call it Christianity and love. They think alike, talk alike, look alike, and believe alike; harsh reality is that their hearts are usually contrary to God’s Truth, Word, and Reality.

The company you keep plays a big part in the outcome of your life especially if you allow those, who don’t find it necessary to use Christ as their example, to become the pattern you follow. It is easy to want to follow the crowd. That is why we are to surround ourselves with likeminded (God’s minded) people, coming from among (not thinking, talking, or doing the things they engage in) those who are drenched in the evil affairs of this world. But we are still supposed to minister to those that are not likeminded, sharing with them the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ; helping them to see the Light of the Lord. Because in times like these, you either immerse yourself in this ungodly culture, (preying on the poor and downhearted) or you spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who will.

(Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed, Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners).

Our heart is the original source of everything we do. It is the gateway from which everything we do flows; our thoughts, emotions, desires, and motivations. Those who welcome chaos, confusion, lies, disobedience, complacency, and disregard for others are wicked and evil people. They do not acknowledge the deep embedded darkness within them which makes them fall away from God. They continue to serve the god of this world and promote evil doings. And when we do not deploy (prayer, praise) protective steps that protect, defend and preserve our heart from the enemy, we allow that which is contrary to God’s will into our heart, it causes an upset to our very being. You see, the heart is the source of your thoughts, actions, and ultimately, your life so we must actively manage what enters it which influences our life. God told us to guard our heart because what you allow and hold in your heart determines your life’s situations for everything you do. The fact that the issue of life comes from the heart cannot be expressed often enough or with enough urgency because again, every act, speech, though, etc., is a product of what’s in your heart.  Life flows from it. (Proverbs 4:19-25 19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. 20 My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. 21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. 24 Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you).

So, as you go about your day, be careful of what you think on and how much attention you give it; be intentional about what you allow yourself to think about and dwell on.  Search for the true thoughts for the righteous reason, in God’s Word. Think on all the things that are of God. Find words of encouragement and inspiration to share with others throughout the day, week, month and year (always); be careful of those who are about chaos and confusion to be a part of the company you keep; be discerning about the influences you allow. Make sure they align with your core values and expectations. And for the Father’s sake guard your heart from all that is evil; God in Jesus’ name will show you how and keep you through, just ask. We, all, need to stop underestimating God’s power, presence, prominence, and peace and bring under control our thoughts, our words, the company we keep, and what we allow in our heart in order to be in His righteous service. GOD’S GOT IT NO WORRY NO FEAR.

I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great grand. I love my family, friends and everyone I meet. But most of all I love me some YHWH Who is the lifter of my head and the light of my life's pathway. Without Him I can do nothing but with Him nothing is impossible for me to do.
